[SUGGESTION] Class 0 FSD for in system travel

I'd like to see a class 0 FSD.

This would be a non-jump capable drive that is purly for in system travel.

The idea here being that it could be used by in system shuttles and similar.
This would allow a variety of potentially interesting traffic dedicated to a given system without worrying about inter-system jumps. For example it seems a bit unreasonable that all your traffic and passanger needs are met using fully interstellar capable ships. This could also work for 'long range' fighers as well, something that fills a gap between an SLF and ships like the Eagle. Perhaps small in system exploration vessels could be a thing launched from research bases or mega ships.

I have built several ships that never left the system they were bought in, for those I fitted a 1d FSD just to save weight. I don't think adding another module for those circumstances would add anything to the game; it might save a tiny amount of weight & cost but that's about it.

A Supercruise capable SLF would be cool, and before they were introduced to the main game this was how I thought they would work (buy & outfit them as any other ship but cannot jump to another system without being carried by another ship). I like the idea but it's incompatible with the way SLFs have been implemented & it would be a fair bit of re-working to make them autonomous.

I don't think there is a place in the game for this module any more. I do like the idea of non jump-capable ships though.

For a player outfitting a normal ship then I agree, this probably doesn't make sense.

As a dedicated module for small intra-system ships though I think it probably does make sense, something that lets the ship enter SC but specfically isn't intended to go anywhere else. This might not be something a player sees on their outfit screen but still needs to be there for that ship to work as planned to provide the mentioned gameplay.

Your idea for a bit more module control on things like the SLF could work too though, perhaps the FSD could even be optional in that case, perhaps giving you the option to enter SC for long range at the expense of something else?? Anyway..

The thing that hit me when I read this suggestion was "exploration SLF"... One that would need to be able to go into SC but not jump to another system. Naturally, SLFs in general could be "housing such a module" and there would be no need to add it extra in the outfitting, but if SLFs would be expanded and were able to be outfitted with modules (and their 30 km limit removed) I'd love a "class 0 FSD" for an SLF carrying at least a scanner to go and fly inside the system to scan it. It would only have any sense IF class 0 FSD would be far faster in SC naturally.

Not to be limited to exploration, IF such an SLF would be able to land at a station, it would be useful for long-range (at least data delivery) missions etc., limitless options.

Or alternative drive type(s) with their own class and rating variants -- allowing you to build fast in-system racers. This would allow at least three engine types -- non-SC, non-Jump, and Jump. Presumably the reduced capability types would perform better in their role than the more capable ones.
