One thing we see repeatedly on these discussion forums is (usually new) players who get destroyed by other players.
Whether welcomed or hated by the victims, these encounters are common enough that experienced players give repeated evasion advice:
My suggestion is to create a training scenario that teaches players how to avoid an opponent who outmatches them. Place the player in a Sidewinder, and have them go up against a fully combat fitted Fer-De-Lance. Talk them through how to identify a threatening target, how to check it's sub-systems for weapons loadout, encourage submitting to interdiction, evasion tactics, and the difference between low-wake and high-wake.
The scenario should be setup so that the player would have no chance of succeeding in head-to-head combat, so they are forced to learn to accept that there are times when they are outmatched.

- Submit to interdiction, rather than fight it.
- Turn and face your opponent
- Boost past your opponent.
- Drop chaff and/or heat sink.
- Engage high wake (or low wake if you want to try again within the same system).
- Don't fly without rebuy.
