There should be an extra section added for the computation parts of our ships.
This section could include trading computation programs, advanced astrometric charts, comms...
We would need to upgrade our standard computer systems, processors, memory to store programs- even graphics cards for enhanced visual interfaces. All Standard systems and programs could be kept as they are, and integrated into the new computer system if a commander chose to do so. It would be a nice addition and one that makes total sense- Take Docking computers, for example. They have no weight as they are nothing but a program but with our current standard ship configurations, we have to sacrifice an entire internal slot for a computer program! How can a computer program take the same space as an entire hanger, SRV included? It makes no sense.
