Engineers Suggestion: data and material made exchangeable

So after spending 3 hours looking for Antimony and found nothing, while getting 27 Technetium in 1 hour, I wish that we can exchange similar grade materials and data.

For example:

Elements
Grade 1: nickle for sulfur
Grade 5: technetium for antimony

Manufactured:

Grade 1: basic conductor for crystal shard
Grade 5: EFC for chemical manipulator

IMO, this will reduce the time praying RNG god and reduce the wasted material. I have throw away all carbon since I do not have the need for them. I wish I could change all of them to iron instead. And this will still require me to go out and find the materials myself

Thought?

I would be ok with this but only if they had a separate 'Material Market' where selling unneeded materials can give you a different type of credit that you could save up and spend on the rarer materials. I threw a massive chunk of unneeded data away due to poor storage and then less than an hour later, new info was released on the new Engineers and guess what? I had all 50 of those things. lol

What would be nice is being able to call-in/hire your own transport to offload materials & commodities. For all the grief X series gets I have to say this is one area they have a solution for.

I totally agree with what Be4st said. Heck, I would be overwhelmingly happy if FDev allowed me to exchange 1 antimony for 10k of iron. It is so soul-crushing for me to spend hours doing what I hate (scan wake, surface mining) just to get a bad roll. Having this market will allow me to do what I love ( waiting for wanted ship spam at Nav beacon while playing Lego) and still get the required material for engineers (by exchanging everything that I do not need). I also think that detailed scan of planets can yield some kind of data so that explorers can do what they love too. As of right now, if I wanted to get better at combat, I have to do surface mining and cannot "blaze my own trail"
