Suggestion Discussion Stream

Good afternoon Commanders!

Seeing how the Suggestion subsection is buzzing with activity I would like to introduce or re-introduce an idea of a livestream during which the Devs(meaning a selected few of them) would discuss the most vocal suggestions. Including PP changes, new ship / module ideas, fixes, mechanics or what else have You.

All of this in hopes of getting a clearer form of Devs' stand on whatever there is currently being suggested and discussed.
I do realise they are most likely working their hands to the bone but streams on Elite Dangerous Youtube channel are quite regular so delegating one or two of the Dev team might be viable.
However I would like Us to focus more on the idea itself rather than it's feasibility.

What do You make of this?

Thank You for Your input.

I think it could have its advantages & disadvantages, could certainly get youtube channels & the forums alike buzzing with activity if some off the cuff remark is made by a developer that is somehow taken as gospel then etched into a stone tablet as a gold plated promise of future content. Could also crush peoples expectations or heighten them, causing 100 page + threads of much philosophical debate worthy of the greats of old. I mean i wouldn't say no tbh, would be nice to know what the plan is, see if it matches my exceptions & such, yet i doubt they would & they seem to keep things close to their chest for one reason or another i would suspect.

Not sure what the point would be.
The stock answer is "that's something we might look at in the future".

Given that FD barely deliver on the things they say they want to do, the things we want them to do have less than zero chance of ever happening.

Hey if the devs want to interact with the community using any kind if platform I'm all for it. It would be great to see a polling/voting system in the forums and then the most voted for suggestions get talked about in further depth in the live stream.

That would result in the same 3 features being discussed every livestream. Focusing effort on whoever yells loudest is not the most effective way to improve the game for everyone.

I was thinking more that the developers choose from the suggestions which are realistic (or create their own options) and each player only gets one vote.

Sounds good, but like already mentioned, it would be nice if the Devs interacted here in the forums. I realize that could be, ahem... rather Dangerous. But it would be kind of nice to know the suggestions are read, which ones (if any) the Devs like.

In all honesty though, they'd probably get chased away pretty quick.. lol. Can't say I'd blame them.

Today streams actually took some Q&A, answered some questions from the forums & chat, Overall was a pretty good stream, Learnt some other things about the BGS too, could have quite happily have listened to a lot more about all the nooks & crannies of how its working. Very good stream, especially since it was to do with some of the mechanics i'm interested in. Although they clearly have numbers on people activities, & cater content towards that, although they should perhaps be careful its not a consequence of certain reactions to situations in game. E.g mining is probably popular because it highly profitable (& update) & so would trading be as a result of that. If Powerplay became profitable i'd suspect people would migrate towards that career. Trouble is, engineering locks you out of taking part in Powerplay PvP wise for a length of time, so that may be a reason why stats are showing low activity there. I think if they added something to the codex that communicated the ruleset for BGS, so you know if your actions are counting in a certain system & aren't locked out or checked because another state is in play, such as the influence being deadlocked during a war. I'd imagine most people outside of BGS bubbles won't know that during that time minor factions can't be influenced etc.

But yeah, if the OP checks out the rerun of the stream today, some good info on how the BGS works, clears some things up & is good to know how to impact a system with certain mission types.
