All you have to do to avoid scanning system that already been discovered by other players and your self is to avoid going directly to the main Locations like Colonia, Saga A* or Nebulas and make your trips, a long route and do not use the most Direct route. This will cut down on systems that already been discovered while exploring. Please! I actually don't think this is a good idea. As a non exploration oriented player, on those occasions where I do want to do some exploration, I can still find interesting stuff that no one else got to first. A filter like this... Does the exploration for you, and there would certainly be people who would solely focus on hitting these systems, leaving nothing overlooked for new users.
Yeah, I can see how it definitely makes sense from a lore perspective. Now that I think about it, probably functionality like this exists in third party utilities like EDDiscovery anyways; if that is the case, there's no reason why FDev shouldn't make it a standard feature in the GalMap also.I understand the idea, but the map already includes an option to filter stars that you’ve already visited. If CMDRs were legitimately turning information into a “universal” cartographics, then it stands to reason that the information would be updated across the entire Pilot’s Federation database.
