[Suggestion] Explored 'Unexplored' indicator

It would be somewhat nice to be able to see in the nav panel/targeted object name if the body has already been explored by someone (as noted by 'first discovered by...' in the system map). Even something as simple as an asterisk.

I don't feel I need this (don't mind if it's implemented though) but at what point are you suggesting?

If it's on the galmap I'd say no, you should go there to find out if it's been first discovered.
If you mean the left nav panel & on the HUD once you've honked I think that would be fine.
Your suggestion of a simple asterisk works for me.
