You could add the ability to hire NPC pilots to fly ships that you've bought along with the ability to assign a limited set of jobs for them to fill-- in other words, you could have a fleet of trader ships, mining ships or a band of pirates or any combination thereof. The NPC's would be paid a certain amount of your earnings from the extra ships with more money being given to better pilots. A novice NPC might be given %25 percent of your profits while a expert NPC might be given %50 of your profits. You could add a fleet management module to the starbase services selections and have a limit on the size of your fleets--say up to ten ships. I think the ability to own fleets of NPC piloted ships would add a whole new and very exciting dimension to the game
