Maybe not many ppl go for missions anymore other than for BGS, but maybe a Mos Eisley Cantina style interaction might be another way to get missions.
Say you already know where you're going (via another mission, trade, passenger, etc), have a chat with the bartender.. Like, "Hey mate, here's where I'm headed, if you hear any of your patrons need to go here, send them my way, I'll be at that table."

- You can set the destination and/or whether you're willing to take on missions in the general vicinity of said destination.
- You can tell the bartender what type of mission you're willing to take on (e.g. normal missions, passenger, and/or on-foot).
- Clients can be faction-bound or just your regular scrub off the side of the street.
- Clients come by and you have the interaction similar to the other in-station mission persons e.g. giving you details of the mission, haggling of prices etc.
- You can have some niceties like animations of clients coming up n chatting to the bartender, n the bartender nodding the clients to where you're sitting.
