I am one who really enjoys management systems and economic systems, I was thinking how nice it'd be to be able to set up ones own small trading company.
A lot of people have more than enough money after a while and the trading could be run by sheer numbers and algorithms, pictures to represent the ships and pilots and crews of these ships that truck for ya or even maybe fight for you.
They could even have stats that could be improved over time, either directly or passively over time.
The ships, each one could be outfitted just like your own personal ship but in a simpler and easier to program for you guys, less interactive screen, ships could also be made role specified and since this would be a passive and background thing for those of us that love numbers and trade, I wouldn't think it'd be too hard to implement in the future, eventually.
This might also open up avenues for a management system to connect through an official companion app with android and apple phones.
You could even make it a risky venture by making it cost, say, 5 billion or so to start up a company, this could be done by a loan system from a major cooperation, which you then pay off over time, with interest of course and, of course, a percentage of your profits go to them, so, it would take quite a while for a player to go full independent.
Everything that it takes to run a business could be implemented with relative ease, such as insurances, upkeep, loss of pilots and or ships, losses in cargo from pirating, hiring of pilots and ships to run protection for your trading vessels.
Some routes would be less profitable but much safer in core power zones, protected by large navies, others would be more risky but much higher profits.
This would open up the possibilities for more in-depth NPC usage, such as crews on your personal ship which boost stats in different ways and or have negative stat effects depending.
Just some ideas and things I hope to see in the future, it could be a appetizer or distraction to keep people occupied til space legs, station legs, planet legs and eventually, maybe even "FPS/RPG legs" are perfected lol.
Anyway, thanks and great job on the game so far guys, loving it!
