Suggestion for HUD overlays

After flying around in a few different roles and had an idea that I figured I'd get opinions on.

HUD specialisations module(s)?
I was thinking an internal or utility slot, not sure if it would be better as a combined module with multiple overlays to separate. These overlays would cover the whole canopy in the same way existing information is overlaid.

COMBAT overlay
-enhanced target info (to avoid opening panel 1) shows bounty and affiliation data
-heat/emission highlighting (for better ability to follow contrails)
-contrast changes, dull everything but target. Kinda like enforced tunnel vision

NAVIGATION overlay
-enhanced grid overlay that distorts with gravity wells.
-optimal trajectory to target (imagining something like a tunnel guide)
-feel like it needs something else, can't think what though.

EXPLORATION overlay
-contrast changes as per combat just with no target
-increase contrast on reflected light (make those objects just twinkle a little)
-celestial object info when scans complete (to avoid having to go to system map all the time

Good idea?

I had a similar thought regarding how tedious supercruise is. Something like this would make it more fun and involved than flying in a straight line and wondering why the hell is speed changing from time to time and "SLOW DOWN" text appears and disappears seemingly at random.

Instead of modules, it could be a possible HUD mode which you can select from ship's right panel, similar to crosshairs, orbit lines, etc.
