Suggestion: Guardian Paint Job (Not just cosmetic ;) )

Introduction:

We have a LOT of paint jobs at our finger tips thanks to the new ARX currency (and likely much more to come) However there are no skins in the game (that I know of) that are obtainable outside of package and ARX purchases. As well as the variety of paint schemes that ARX offers, it would be nice to see some strictly In-Game ones as well that can be obtained through Tech Brokers and other actions.one such example could be Guardian Paint Job.

Suggestion:

- A New Item is available at Tech Brokers, Being the Guardian Paint Job. ( NOT PURCHASEABLE WITH ARX!)

- This applies a visual effect to all ships applied ( The 'Guardian' Blue pattern)

- This Paint Job also carries a very small bonus when applied (as due to the fact it is not a store item ;) ) by adding 2% resistance to Thargoid weaponry. this makes it the first Paint item that is not just cosmetic and could make a very interesting new concept. (being In-game cosmetics with very minor boosts, not store items as that would be very naughty on FDev's part :D )

Conclusion:

Adding a Guardian Paint scheme would already be cool for fans of this aspect of the game, but the specialised bonus is an additional icing on the cake, it is certainly not a massive boost. just enough to make this scheme stand out more than the rest that players can buy with ARX.


NOTE: this suggestion has nothing to do with Guardian Ships... which will be an entirely different suggestion. ;)

A skin that gives an advantage? Bad idea (would open doors for p2w cosmetics)
A guardian skin? Good idea
Skins thru Tech broker? Good idea (ED would say "Bad idea" we would miss out on money)

That is exactly what I just said in the post haha, I too do not want FDev buffing their store skins :D

This would entirely eliminate the real choice in the matter and demand this skin be used for all thargoid combat folks, effectively limiting them to one choice.

"But you could just not use it!"

And give up that 2% damage resistance? No.


And that's why this is a terrible idea that's better served with a unique bulkhead designed to provide a bonus against them instead. Either that or make the cosmetic aspect of it optional, allowing us to maintain the effect while still using our preferred skins.
