In his Christmas Update, Michael gave strong hints that Power Play would be getting a significant Overhaul this Season-in particular with the addition of Bulletin Board Style missions that you can do for your Power Play Faction (on top of the existing Preparation, Expansion & Fortification/Undermining missions).
If this does prove to be correct, then there are certain ways I'd like it to work.
1) Power Play "Bulletin Board" missions should be potentially obtainable in any system....though most likely in system controlled or exploited by your faction.....or those systems directly bordering these systems. The missions should also be able to target practically any system within the Power Play sphere of influence. These two elements would help to allow those wanting to do Power Play to get away from their Faction's respective Capitals.
2) The Power Play Bulletin Board missions should be ostensibly like those on the regular Bulletin Board, but with an obvious Power Play flavour. They should also have both normal in-game effects *and* Power Play related effects.
So, for example, your Power Play contact offers you a mission to rescue a pilot who has been taken hostage by an Opposing Faction. If you succeed, then you'll get paid to a similar degree as if you'd done the mission in the regular Bulletin Board, but with the added bonus of gaining a major boost to your Power Play & (in the case of this mission) a boost to the CC for your faction and/or a reduction in the CC of the faction you're rescuing the hostages from.
Other mission types might include-Shadow Trade (Boosts CC for your faction and undermines the faction control in the system you're trading to); Regular Trade (boosts CC's & helps to either expand or fortify that system); transporting regular or encrypted data (helps to boost your faction's CC's, whilst also helping with preparation in the system you're transporting it to); find lost pilot (boosts the CC's for your faction); Open the Gate etc (helps to undermine the Power Play faction in that system, or picking up data from bases can grant CC's for you faction); Salvage missions (either boosts CC's-if it's black boxes or trade data or the like-or helps to fortify your Power Play Faction in that system)....just to name a few.
