Suggestion : Make Outfitting Rebuy permanent

I for one am dismayed at the thought of the 5.1 million credit loss every time I switch out muh Clipper A7 shield (and at times more modules ) for a lighter one to reduce the number of jumps between CG's etc.

Then I realized the game mechanic for module storage already exists - outfitting rebuy. All it needs is a swat with the programming stick in exactly the same way Asteroid status was.

In terms of required programming , however the asteroid database was changed to make it non instanced should be applicable to outfitting rebuy.

Sell a module , take the 10% hit , return to the station some time later and rebuy it at the refund price , problem solved. You still take the loss on the chin if you never return to the station and swap back. And you only have yourself to blame if you forget which station you sold module X at.

Nice idea but in reality that implies that when you sell the module the station puts it on one side and leaves it "in case" you ever decide come back for it. Gonna be lots of Class 1 weapons and such that you'd never use again once you upgrade to bigger ships.

I'd much prefer a storage area, maybe at your faction HQ since thats new in Powerplay. Be able to store ~2 modules of specific types (powerplant/sensors) and for weapons/internal modules allow up to say ~5 of each type.
Force you to be careful about what you buy and what you store.

I support this, I think this is a balanced solution to these changes.

However I think I know a better approach, give players the ability to pay stations to store modules for you. How much you pay to store modules depends on their class and how many of them. Lets say, with no fore thought on balancing just to get the ball rolling here. The Class 5's cost 25k a pop and it goes down/up from there or something. I guess it could also be 10% of the modules cost or something, but that sounds pretty expensive. May be they should get a percentage of the storage fees back once the modules have been removed from that station. Either way this allows players to pay, to change their loadout on a ship, without being overly penalized for it.
