Probably been asked before, probably will again. Its something serious miners need. The fact we have to watch for pirates, and also cut chunks off of asteroids, then chase them down, is beyond silly in the time line this game is in. The date is what? 3000 plus? And we're supposed to think that pirates can scan you from a distance and see everything you have, and the scanning of asteroids from point blank range cant tell you whats inside? ...So if we had drones that can be set to mine whatever we need, and we check the rock to make sure it has it inside, then we send them out to mine 1 ton at a time, and we guard them while they fill our cargo hold, just like using the scoop now.It makes more sense then the way things are now, pretending that some areas have had research while others have been left in the Dark Ages.[where is it]

Yeah there is already mining limpets that tell you what percentage the asteroid has of metals and then limpets that collect the material and once we have launched ships to protect the mother ship I don't see anything that your talking about. All you have to do to mine at this point is to fire the laser and release the limpets. I think your mining improperly and should look into the way your doing it. Professional miners don't scoop the material themselves.
After you buy the collector or prospector modules, you buy the actual limpit drones from the restock menu. Same for hatch breakers.
