Just got my big scanners, (the advanced discovery scanner and detailed surface scanner), and now I want to revisit systems that I've already been to with my basic scanners, to complete the system, discover all planets and suns that I might've missed the first time... But how would I know?? It would be nice to have a gal-map filter for that:
none: never been to
Color1: Discovered at least one object (most likely the first sun), no basic or detail scan (run-of-the-mill-passing-through-system)
Color2: Discovered everything, no detailed surface scan
Color3: Discovered everything, Detail scan 100%
If I only visit a system, at least I get the first sun, so the system will turn up Color1.
If I do a basic discovery scan, I get the nearest planets but still not the entire system (provided there are more object IN the system of course), system will still be Color1.
If every non-sun object (asteroid belt excluded) is discovered, but not detail scanned, it will show up as Color2
When I get everything in the system detail scanned, the system scan is complete and it will show as Color3
