SUGGESTION: Please separate mining from trading !

I stumbled upon this thread: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...ing-profit-from-trade-profits!-Elite-in-a-day. And over the years there have been several threads like these, or people making remarks about this in other threads.

Perhaps now is the time to bring this up again:

Please, please, please (yes, three times :)) separate mining from trading !

I always felt that mining should get its own ranking, especially now, with all the new tools and the new mechanics.
I have been advocating this since the beta, or perhaps even earlier, but now... Mining has grown up and become far too awesome to be dumped in the same bag as trading.

Mining is a separate profession from trading. A miner is no trader. He doesn't just buy and sell commodities.
It's a whole other thing, a different mindset, a different mechanic.

FDEV please separate mining from trading asap.
It has to happen.

Add surface mining for profit with similar tech and procedure as asteroid rings, add a couple of Mining SRVs (With weapons that actually hit things) and separate to a Mining Rank?

0 - Dangerous (Yup thats right folks)
1 - Panhandle
2 - Spade
3 - Dredge
4 - Excavator
5 - Rockhound
6 - Sapper
7 - Mole
8 - Elite

Rank Growth defined by Mining Types:
- Surface Deposits = Minor Growth
- Subsurface = Medium Growth
- Cores = Large Growth

Profit also should factor in, but Chemicals, Metals and Minerals (The mineable stuff) should be traded on a separate Market to the usual commodities one to separate out the Cash Flow issues that would be caused by double boosting Trade and Prospector Rank? Or maybe something out of sight with those commodities factoring for Prospector NOT Trade?

I for one am about 1x10(Inf+1) more likely to get Mining Rank than I am say..... CQC.... And I'm Combat Pilot at heart.

It's a bit of a different topic, but since you mentioned it...
I have been asking for planetary surface mining since the beta :)
I really hope FDev is going to add this to the game.
I don't want the old M4 Mining machines back in ED (that is too passive), but instead I proposed adding a mining SRV to the game for planetary mining.
This could be so cool.
