Suggestion: Promoted Economy

Hey all! Hoping this idea gives a good middle ground between micromanaging everything and having limited control over an economy!

In each system you own, you may choose an economy type on only one T2 or T3 station in your system to be promoted, which lore wise means special infrastructure or subsidies are being put towards it to encourage it's growth.

The economy needs to already be present on the station, and over 100% influence (from strong links or planetary influence) to do this.

The effects:
  • All strong links of the promoted economy type get a boost.
  • All strong links not of it's type get a penalty.
  • The station ignores weak links in the system.
  • If the planet is generating a promoted economy type, then the other ones are disabled (Eg i could promote a High Tech economy on a station orbiting an Ammonia world and disable it's Tourism influence). Otherwise, the planetary influence is applied at 50% strength. (Eg a refinery around a high metal content world will still receive some extraction economy).

Another thought for promoting an economy is you can only do it if the station has a strong link with a Government Installation, rather than just one per system

Care would be taken so the player does not anticipate the forcing of a port to an economy type when there are no links of that type. Wording it "Use strong links only" or "Specialize in strong links only" would help clarify the effect. Yes requiring a Government Installation is a cool idea.

Anything that would allow for some builds beyond the formulaic builds that seem to dominate would be nice.
