[Suggestion] Recording station history

One thing I noticed, when flying around the galaxy exploring was that when I arrived at a new place, I had no way of knowing if anything there had changed. Once stations start changing hands, it may not be very obvious to players who weren't watching closely. Plus, a couple years from now, I'd like to be able to look back at some of the history of the galaxy that the players will hopefully help shape.

So I'd like to suggest that, the stations or systems should have a record of their history. Could be in the system map, or in the news tab at the station. Maybe a simple list of when it changes hands, maybe a more detailed timeline of booms and busts, maybe just an archive of locally-important news articles. (Bonus points if the news articles mention players who helped cause changes by name.) The form doesn't matter so much; what I'm really interested in here is some way to get a sense of the in-game history of a place.

I'd very much like this as well! I did a couple of runs for a smaller famished outpost, to try to get them better off, now I'd really like to know if I go back there whether everything went to hell ever since I left.

This type of thing would also be quite useful for the commodities market, perhaps a graphs screen much like those we encounter in transport tycoon (I currently don't have the posting priviliges to hotlink it, but I'm sure you clever people know what a profit graph is!) We could have separate graphs for commodity types, same with population statistics and the general wealth of a station or faction! It would also be interesting as it can indicate on the curve in what direction a specific value is heading, for instance the amount of medical supplies at an outpost goes down vastly, which quickly could let players figure out a profitable trade, or charitable operation, whichever way you see it;)!
