[SUGGESTION]Remove the weird ability to spot mission related containers from further away than normal

I think I noticed the following:
Currently when you happen to have a mission to source certain goods, for example power generators....
and you go down to a planet and a POI is spawned that contains power generators then suddenly you can spot that container with power generators from 1.5 km away.
Not other stuff in the POI you will be able to spot on your scanner whether there are buildings, drones, a gazillion other containers etc. but that one container of power generators lights up.

I think this is wrong. Why would I be able to spot that container from 1.5 km, just because I happen to have a certain mission to source these goods? When I do not have such a mission I won't be able to see that container from that far away either.
This is not consistent.

FD, would you please remove this anomaly?

It is not an unreasonable effect.

Assume that you detect objects from a distance by identifying their "signature" against the background noise and clutter.

If you don't know the exact signature, then you have to rely on pattern matching and signal-to-noise ratios.

If you do know the exact signature - which I will presume is provided by the Patron - then you woukd be able to detect it at greater distances and lower signal-to-noise.

So yes, if you know what you are looking for you should be able to detect it a greater distance.

Compare to picking out a voice you recognise in a crowded noise room.

Yes as you describe this could make sense if I took on a mission to find specific certain cargo on a specific planet.
But that is not how it works currently.

If you take on any mission to get for example some power generators you would in general simply go to an industrial system and buy them.
Even when your hold is full with power generators, and if you have not yet returned the cargo to the mission giver, and you then land on a planet surface, every power generator in range will be shown in white brackets and be labeled 'mission required'.
This makes no sense if you have not taken on a mission to find power generators on the surface of that planet.
To use your example: The mission giver does not have the signatures of these specific power generators at all and therefore I should not be able to see them from a distance of 1.5 km.

That's a good point, probably just an unintended code effect but odd never the less.

In a similar vein, but obviously intended, are the Mission Target and Mission USS markers. For mission USS' I'd rather the mission details advised you to look in a certain type of USS, rather than the current system that marks the exact USS as soon as it appears. The same for Pirate and Smuggler targets, how do I know they're a pirate unless I see them pirating? Why do smugglers have a big 'SMUGGLER' sign on them when I haven't scanned their cargo to see if it's illegal?

I understand it makes the game play faster and easier to flag up the correct targets as soon as they're in visual range, but on the downside it removes any challenge from hunting them down.
