Suggestion - ship 'blinds'/increase sun glare - Orbit line on/off option

Dear Frontier
I think it would be great to be able to open and shut and open your ships mechanical sun blinds (Or what ever is preventing the player from seeing the full brightness of the sun).

Wouldn't it be great to see the sun with extreme brightness (not completely accurate obviously) when you open them? Also other ships/planets closer to the sun would be more blinding and white like the light of actual space. I think it would add a nice layer of immersion.

I made this video quickly just to highlight what I mean: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0S2mqwShE5Q&feature=youtu.be

As much as I like Elite's suns, I think i'd agree with Scott Manley* that they are a little too close to looking real while not quite being perfect. Adding the blinds I think would help solve this issue because the suns would look immersive without getting the 'uncanny valley' effect that Scott talks about.

Also i'd like to be able to disable all hud/orbit markers in hyperspace travelling to planets. I know CTRL Alt(?) H disables the hud but i'd like to be able to play without any immersion breaking elements such as the orbital lines.

I'd appreciate some comments on anyone's thoughts.

Thanks Frontier, everything you've been doing so far has been so perfect and great.
PS: I'm loving elite sososo much :D

The devs spoke about this earlier, and the line of thought is that the canopy is adaptive and can effectively filter the light from the sun so that it isn't blinding. I don't really see what practicality there would be in allowing a pilot to switch that off.

However, I have to say that there was a whole lot more lens flares, glares, and even glow effects, in PB and B1. B2 seemed to reduce it substantially, and I honestly don't think the game looks as good.

This doesn't just affect suns, either. The flashing nav lights on stations aren't as bright as they were previously because the glare/lens flare they generated is almost completely gone, which now makes it quite difficult to see of the lights are red or green until you're practically on top of them.
