Suggestion - Should we nerf the FAS?

There is a precedent for that, I mean they nerfed missiles and they've been completely useless ever since :/ but I always hope they will do the right thing!

I think fd nerf too far on purpose then use the comparative nerf rebuff volume of howling to interpolate. However they only seem to interpolate once per update.

Seeing as no one has thrown out any numbers yet i'm saying turn lowestspeed turn rate to 15 seconds and mid to 10.2. Bear in mind this will be about 10-16% quicjdr due to large thrusters to mass. And it will still turn phenomenally well, it just won't be outpitching in a stall what most ships manage in the blue zone.

FAS has mediocre shields, the FDL has mediocre hull, and the HRP meta completely masks this issue. Take those out of the picture and this should become clear.

In a shield meta the FAS would be highly vulnerable to burst damage due to the poor shield capacity. It wouldn't be particularly amazing in a missile meta either. The FDL would, but that's to be expected. It has strong shields, and for missiles it has more C2 hardpoints. The FDL should NOT be good at hull tanking which is only possible because of HRPs being incredibly overpowered. It wasn't before, and it's still not if you don't use HRPs. Nerfing the ship itself is a band-aid on a brain tumor.

If all internal modules were removed, then the FDL/FAS would still beat everything, only faster.

It's true that they benefit from it, but not disproportionally. In fact almost every ship benefits more from internal slots than FAS and FDL.

Small ships gain 10x the eHP from HRPs, large ships gain 10x the eHP from SCBs/HRPs, FAS/FDL only gain 2-3x.

Any internal nerf would only make the problem worse

Not to say an internal nerf isn't necessary, but it must come with FAS/FDL nerf

That's a false equivalency; the FDL does not depend on internals, because it's internals are notoriously subpar. The reason it does so well in the HRP meta is the unnatural durability conveyed by HRPs and its' thermal profile allowing it to remain stealthed for longer than other ships. Without HRPs to prop it up the FDL would crumple like a paper bag when hit without shields.

Also small ships gain around 500% benefit from HRPs, large ships gain around 400%. Far closer to the ~300% gained by the FDL and FAS than you suggest. You are deliberately skewing the data to make your position look better than it actually is.

The FDL did not do particularly well in the SCB meta either.
