[Suggestion] Smuggling Compartments

Like a regular cargo rack, purchased in anarchy or pirate systems, carry between 1/4 and 1/3 the capacity of a standard cargo rack of the same size. (The rest is taken up by anti-sensor baffles and shielding)

Resistant or proof against ship scans from pirates and authority vessels.

Optional added degree of difficulty: If you disable your cargo hatch, it vents the contents of the smuggling compartment.

Interesting idea! Rep++

When scanned, the contents should appear to be biowaste (or some other low-value cargo).

I'd recommend that they hold 1/2 as much; that way they'd hold as much cargo as the next smaller slot size (and be more useful).

I've had similar ideas in the past. One is that like the one you mention, the other one is an actively shielded Cargo Compartment. Holds as much as a regular cargo compartment-but consumes energy to keep the cargo hidden from longer range scans. In both cases, scans from much shorter range will still expose the contraband.

I had in mind that these kinds of cargo racks might be purchasable items from the shadier of the Engineers-like The Dweller.

The powered compartment is an interesting idea.

Which also makes me wonder: Could ECM pulses be used to disrupt scans when entering a station?
