suggestion: some ships to be flyable due to elite-ranking progression only

Hi all

I was thinking it would be an improvement if ships "above" Cobra Mk3 in value be accessible through elite-related ranking progression... much like the Federal drop ship and clipper needing rank with either empire or federation.

For example to fly the ASP you would need to have the Trailblazer rank or the Python would need the combined Expert rank and Broker rank and so forth.

The advantage of combining ranks would push players to explore other way of making income while state their ranking as well with the ship they fly...

just an idea.

nope. It would mean that a trader who made enough money to buy an ASP and go explore couldn't do it without first exploring using his T9 or whatever "Trader-Ship rank" he achieved. Similarly, a bounty hunter who made a small fortune hunting Anacondas wouldn't be able to grab one of the big trading ship without first "leveling" to an appropriate trader rank etc ...
I don't think it's a good idea. (sorry if my previous phrasing was harsh. IÄm at work and trying to keep that short
