So, if anyone remembers the live-streams for the 2.1 Beta, they'll remember that Sandro said that the "Calling in a Favour" mechanic was originally planned for Factions, not Engineers. So this raises the obvious question, will we see this mechanic expanded to Factions in 2.2? If so, what do you think the effects of "Calling in a Favour" will be?
As I see it, it could cover several things:
1. Changing mission parameters (like payout or time for completion).
2. Better prices on Commodity Markets, Outfitting, Ships, Combat bonds and Bounties.
3. Getting fines overlooked.
4. Access to specialized modules not normally available via outfitting.
5. Rumours, Hints and Tip-offs, that tie the Commander more into the lore of the area & give them a heads-up on what the BGS is going to be doing next.
Can anyone think of any others?
By the by, I'd also like to see a similar favour mechanic apply to Powers and Super-Powers, & I'd like to see the existing Favour system for engineers apply to making improvements to certain aspects of a module upgrade (like reducing its weight, or reducing its energy draw, for example) & for gaining access to "off the shelf" upgraded modules.
