I just bought "Thrillville - Off The Rails" for the PC and I'm a HUGE fan! I'm 'thrilled' you released it for PC... The graphics and animation are awesome! Congratulations!
I've been reading through the various threads/posts here and the emphasis on "community" and I wanted to know if Frontier has ever considered bringing Thrillville online as a multi-player game or persistent virtual world? Every time I interact with the characters in Thrillville.. I just think.... wow, it'd be so cool if these were real people using avatars in the game. I'm curious if there's been any discussion about this on the various forums/fan sites that you can link me to?
I'm an "Immersive Communities Consultant" and to get an idea of what I'm talking about, just take a look at www.virtualworlds2007.com
Now do you get the gist of how popular they really are .. and how huge companies like Disney, Viacom, etc are already cashing in? Interestingly enough, LucasArts created the first virtual world "Habitat" and later "Club Caribe" in the mid 80s...(Wikipedia it for details) which I was proudly a member of in my teens. Of course the technology was limited back then and it was a project wayyyy ahead of it's time... but broadband has changed all of that now!
It's apparent that you have a dedicated community that loves to design and share .. Just take a look at all the (RCT and Thrillville) fan sites and the user generated content (coaster designs, scenery, etc) ... Mix that up with a virtual economy in a social virtual world centered around an amusement park theme and you've got HUGE potential for a hit!
Whatya think?
