Suggestion to address exploration and engineer issues

Why not create a new type of mat that can be discovered in POI's 5000 Lyr's + out from the bubble. Call this new mat an alien artifact. Turn it in to an Engineer to get an automatic god roll when doing an upgrade.

This does three things:

1. A reason to go out exploring

2. Addresses unfairness complaints in the game due to the recent engineering exploit (to some extent).

3. Addresses complaints about getting random upgrades from engineers (to some extent).

Disagree with the mindset in this suggestion.

2. Point in Time solution which will create a meta that will eventually need to be addressed.

3. Just shifts the metric from one type of grinding to another.

1. Most importantly, we need significant content, not another click bait.

I understand that you are attempting to improve exploration, but I think that we need something more substantial than a "magic item" solution.

Sorry, that would just shift the whining from grinding for mats, to grinding jumps.

However, you are on to something, with a little tweaking.

Have Uber rare materials, unique to each Engineer, and they will gladly take their respective Uber material in exchange for any other material you may be missing, to allow you to roll as normal.
And/or add those uber rare materials to the recipe to influence a better chance of a good roll, by basically increasing the lower range of the slider.

Hang on a minute there, maybe a bit hasty. Players that explore do it because they want to, so what's the harm in scattering a little candy in the void to brighten their day? Hell, I'm 13k Ly from the bubble, so right now would be happy to find and old sock

P.S. I agree though that it should not be the reason to go exploring, just a nice treat if you happen to be in the deep.

Ya they need to add more to deep exploration. Material that past 5k ly would be great. Or even using Main space highways.
