Suggestion: Transition from FDS to normal speed

I find the transition from FSD to normal speed to much of a cut.
Especially when approaching a space station.
How about making it like the approach to a planetary station.
Would also be more consistent.

For example:
At 1Mm let us enter normal space.
But instead of "beaming" us to 10km of the station,
let us approach from the point we enter normal space in some sort
of "glide mode", like when approaching a planetary station.
Would be far more immersive in my opinion.
Especially if the station and it's surroundings are fully rendered while approaching.

It could also make approching a station more "skill based".
Let's say you disengage FSD at 800km. (far away)
The speed of this new "glide mode" could be balanced so the approach takes a bit.

(also the gilde mode should not end automaticly, i.e. should be induced by throttling down)

A necro worth bringing back to life. The drops from SC in space are too abrupt to be properly called 'seamless' as they often are.

Suggested myself a while back too.

I'd love the glide sequence to be used for all drops, except for untargeted ones.

In fact, it's probably not necessary for deep space USSs either.

On a semi unrelated note, I'd also like Interdictions to change.
The victim needs to drop at their location, not the attackers, and the attacker needs to glide in, but very quickly, with a little crashout and spin at the end.

I have to agree. Even a cutscene that you can't interact with of you approaching the station at speed and slowing down as you approach would be better as a transition. A slightly longer version of the way you suddenly zoom in toward a sun when you come out of warp. that same goes for planetary landings, allow the ship to keep approaching the planet as it slows from planetary cruise to glide mode. At the moment, having everything freeze in place is immersion breaking.

We only have a certain number of different station types, you can have fixed cutscenes for each one. The cutscene for planets could be dynamically generated to use the current scene.
