[Suggestion] Tying together scanners with other game elements

So I might have brought this up before-so forgive me if I have-but this first occurred to me when they decided to link the DSS to the finding of materials on planets (not sure if it "loads the dice" in terms of material discovery on the planet....but it should).

Anyway, that got me thinking about what other game-play various scanners could link into. My obvious thoughts are

-Surface Scanner & Mining: Using a detailed surface scanner on a planetary ring or asteroid belt will reveal the overall mineral/material composition of the entire ring/belt. As I said above, using the DSS in this way should also "load the dice" in terms of what minerals your prospector limpets will reveal.

-Discovery Scanner & USS's: Using a discovery scanner (honk) on a USS will reveal more details about that USS. For example, if you've identified a Weapons-fire Detected USS, then use an active scan of it, then you'll learn more info about what is in the USS-in this case the number of ships (Basic Scanner), the size of the ships (Intermediate) or even the type of ships (Advanced)

-Manifest Scanners and/or KWS Scanners: When used on a ship you've already done a basic scan on, these scanners will give the players an idea of what kind of Manufactured Materials the ship contains.

Anyway, just a few thoughts. Do you guys have any suggestions?
