Suggestions and ideas for gentle rides and attractions.

Theme park building games have always held a special place for me. I've been hooked on this franchise ever since Roller Coaster Tycoon 2.
When I play these games I want to create the kind of park I would like to go to. As much as I loved Planet Coaster, I always found that difficult to do because of the game's ride selections.
It seemed to me that most of the rides on offer were rollercoasters and thrill rides. Call me a wimp but I've never enjoyed either of those, even a slowed down waltzer was a bad experience for me. So forget cross-platform, forget co-op and multiplayer, what I want is more rides and attractions. Specifically the kind I remember enjoying. And I have some ideas of how you can use them.
These are the ones that are either missing from previous incarnations of the game or never included.
  • Remote controlled boats. The kind where you put in a coin and you could sail them around a pond with a ship's wheel, that was one I always loved. You could make it so you could customise the boats the same way as you do the rides. You could create a sort blank boat and a button you could click on to enter a miniaturized version of the attach scenery mode. Then you could stick pieces onto the boat to create custom crafts. With that you could make Norse longships, Greek triremes, modern ships or crazy fantasy ships!
  • Model cities. I remember going to Madurodam as a child. You could add scale models of various iconic cities to add to the park. Maybe you could even make it possible to create custom ones the same way I suggested customizing the boats.
  • Ball pits, some people call them ball ponds. There was just something so zen about lying on the bottom of a pile of brightly coloured spheres. I remember one park i used to go to had an entire "Ball sea" with a play ship in the centre.
  • Water craft, like rowboats and pedalos. There were plenty of them in RCT2 and 3. I assumed that since you were marketing an aquatic theme they might be included.
  • Submarine rides. Never been on one but I can't believe you created an aquatic, submarine theme and didn't think to include this.
  • Driving schools, like the ones at Legoland parks. I'd rather be able to go on one of those again then drive a real car. Also they would have gone great with some urban themes I wanted to do in Planet Coaster.
  • Walk-through attractions. It could be a unit of space where you lay down a path and fill the rest with scenery and animatronics. Perhaps the attraction I remember most fondly is the Explorer's Institute at Legoland Winsor.
  • Shooting galleries. Not like the shooting ride in planet coaster. I'm talking about the kinds with the themed interiors with animated objects that do crazy things when you hit the targets with the laser beam guns. The one that squirted water always got me. For the mythic and Norse themes you could create an option where the guns look like cross bows.
  • Cakewalk. One of the best rides I've ever been on but I've known only one annual fair to have one.
  • Minigolf. Again you could use miniaturized scenery to fit them to the theme of the park.
  • Gold panning. These would be great for a wild-west themed area. Never did get the hang of them without getting soaked though.
  • Live shows. Like in RT3, you could create different ones for each theme. Or, if you're feeling ambitious, make it so players can create custom shows with actions and scenery. I can still remember a little of Police Academy live stunt show. Wouldn't mind jousting matches either.
  • Laser tag. Not always great but WAY better then paintball.
  • Arcades.
  • General carnival attractions, like test your strength or dunk tanks.
  • Mazes. It would go great with the mythic theme.
  • One of those huge cages with foam-ball cannons inside. They had one at the Millennium Dome.
  • Zeppelin transport ride. I don't think this is a thing but I'd love it.
  • Battle boats. I once when on this ride where we drove battle ships with ball cannons, the idea was to hi the targets on the other boat while avoiding getting hit.
What about the rest of you? Are there any gentle rides or attractions you want added?
