Suggestions for space legs

I know, space legs are even further away then Beagle Point right know,
but I wanted to let you know what I would really love to see if they ever should arrive.
(Time for FDev to implement it beforehand and not as a patch!)

Please make us go through our ships and make us able to enter all the compartments!
So, if you got the option of two grade 6 slots for your shield generator, the first is the one on your right hand side
in your ship and the second one is on the left.

To add even more depth, make the modules look differently! Make the "standart" modules of one Class look the same (Class D looks different than A),
but different in size depending on the module size (size 6 is bigger than size 4).
Additionally, if I have an engineered version, these look completely different and one is able to tell who modified it
(for example a shield generator modified by lei cheung looks different than a generator by Elvira Martuuk, maybe some kind of signature as well).

This should also apply for weapons and utilities!

Please let me know your opinions and if you cant wait for space legs anymore just like me :)
 
Umm, sounds an awful lot of work for something that's probably only going to be looked at once...

Not if there is some gameplay attatched to it, repairs or tweaking a few buttons to get some more efficiency or juice etc. Theres a lot of gameplay additions that could be added, a lot of work? Yes of course as is any new content or addition which doesnt exist yet like every other major addition to elite.

Personally id love space legs but realise its a very long way off if it even sees its inception.
 
Totally agree with the "don't bother" school of thought on this. On the ship? pointless. On the station? Pointless. On the surface? Erm - maybe. But overall, not worth the effort.

What about EVA? exploring old wrecks drifting in the vastness of space, those millenial ships and their haunted stories (not experienced them so no spoilers), Thargoid base exploration... barely need to do any programming, just add stuff to scavenge, the EVA itself would just be a faceplate bitmap and more granular camera control, easy peasy, probably do it in a weekend. :)
 
Could be great, but this would require a lot of work.
For example, whenever you have a SRV bay, it doesnt matter which compartments it is in, you always go out from the same point of your ship. Same thing for Fighters Bay. This would require to do something like getting out of the ship, with SRV or fighter, from differents point of the ship. This would also require the re-call option of your ship (when you are with your SRV) to take this new position into account while landing.
 
Regarding different models and sizes of things, we can see that they look at these details.

I do not know how much this applies to the internal modules, but in the video "Elite: Dangerous Art Journal" he says that propellers of different sizes have a different look. If the outside has a different look, the inner part must follow the same thought.

They look at the internal models so that each ship has an internal look compatible with its function

And here we can see the details of the wreckage, to be looted, which would lead to good gameplay for EVA legs
