I have long been against walking around ships because of what to do once we can; after all, it will quickly become boring. So, how about this as a potential scenario:
Instead of pirate assassination missions we have pirate capture missions where we are sent after a wanted pirate to stop their ship [shooting out engines?], boarding for a shoot-out/hand to hand [again ... ?], returning to our ship with captured pilot [crew?] to return to mission issuing station for the reward. Then, either leaving dead ship, or destroying it for standard cargo/materials or [in another update] towing to a station to sell for additional credits.
