Suggestions from a new player

1. Exploring is a bit dull here's 3 things to improve it a little :
Add a jukebox into this game so we can play our own music. We were able to do it in Grand Theft auto San Andreas (2004), why not implement it in 2016 ?

Add way points to the galaxy map and the system map. I noticed each time I open the system map a query is made to the server to get the info, I suggest changing the system map to get a better understanding of where the suns, planets and moons are so we can plan the optimal path to scan them all. That way i'd open the system map only once instead of opening it 5 times...

As a new feature i would add a "caravan of miners" that would have a chance to spawn in unknown systems (maybe 33% chance to spawn). A mega huge ship would be the main mining vessel on which you can land and sell the stuff you mined. That way you can explore and mine in the unknown if you wish so and have a place where to sell your stuff at very good price. To make to make it work, I would also boost the jump range of the cargo ships (T6-T7-T9) so they can be better at exploring and come back faster to civilization.

2. Increase time to complete missions, nothing is more frustrating than hitting the jackpot on weekdays only to realize it's bedtime. At least 2 days to complete missions would be great.

3. Cargo ships like the keelback, T6 and T7 are too weak, it's the same mistake made in eve online or x3 terran conflict, they are paper thin. Why not make them very hard to kill ? When undermining in powerplay, I gank those ships with an ASP scout during the first half of the FSD cool down. Make them way more resilient.

4. When I started playing i thought i'd go for piracy but when I saw the risks i was taking and the loot that was dropping i changed my mind. Why not have the trader ships or civilian ships drop special items, make those items as rewarding as platinum and painite.

5. Extraction sites are my main source of income and also my main source of frustration. Right now there's a lot of CTD going on, mostly when security is involved. It doesn't only crash when engaging anacondas but pythons and cobras as well... Also several times I engaged a ship with the WANTED tag and I get a bounty on my head for shooting it, it gets worst when it dies... I hope it'll get fixed soon.

6. Since the last patch, we need heat sink to use shield cells, because the 2 are now linked together, we should have at least 10 charges of heat sink

7. I was disappointed to see that the auto-field maintenance didn't repair the canopy nor the hull, since i learned that fact, this item is now useless. Why not make it useful but increase the cost of charges ?

8. Once i spawned near an outpost, hit the boost then out of nowhere a ship spawns right in front of me, I couldn't avoid it and killed it. I got a 7 days wanted bounty on my head. To avoid most of those accidents, if your hardpoints are down, you get no bounty on your head and you collect no bounties for collisions.

1) And in pokemon you could enslave monsters and make them kill each other in 2000, why not have the ability do so in 2016?
1.b) Extremely common suggestion.
1.c) Boost the jump range of cargo ships? In what reality is this a good idea?
.
2) I don't see why one of the most challenging aspect of missions (which aren't very challenging all things considered) should be removed just because of your bedtime.
.
3) This is absurd. They're cargo ships, they're not supposed to be combat capable. Anyone who can't deal with this needs to fly with an escort, just like they do in X3. Besides, all the NPC traders are exactly as capable as combat NPCs considering the ship they're in. Are you seriously complaining you take down T6s in ASs too quickly?
.
4) You were likely doing piracy wrong.
.
5) I haven't experienced this and neither has most of the rest of the forums I think.
.
6) We should also have 100 chaff and 2,000 PA shots. The two are not linked together.
.
7) It does repair the canopy, nothing will repair the hull, and this module is definitely not useless. It's as stable to many combat ships as chaff.
.
8) This just in, ram griefing is back!
.
Forgivable only because you're a new player, but experience fixes many of the 'issues' you think are issues.

Re the jukebox, I don't really get why that should be in-game. Isn't it much more convenient and functional to just have your media player of choice run in the background? Tabbing out of the game to use it is a matter of seconds, and implementing all kinds of features people would invariably start asking for would be time better spent elsewhere.

The AFMU supposedly repairs the canopy since 1.5/2.0. If it doesn't work for you, better report a bug.

Oh, and don't boost in busy places :p

Juke box is a good idea though, let me listen to the background tracks in my own way or import music. IMHO Eve online started to go downhill when they removed the jukebox.

yeah I really don't understand this, Elite is probably the most stable game I've known for Alt tabbing in and out to Winamp where I can listen to whatever music I like and firefox for browsing the Forums while I explored.

Out of all those suggestions, only the duke box and res CTD stand out as any good. And the often asked for waypoint system.

Alt tabbing is annoying to say the least. And can quite often cause instability.
As well as immersion breaking.
(But then so is listening to 1980s music in 3302!). But then, I never play music. So doesn't bother me. Lol

And I still occasionally get the occasional res CTD bug. Though not regularly enough to bother with since 2.03 mostly fixed it, I believe.

For future reference, these mega threads tend to not get a positive response. Break your ideas into individual posts, and they will garner more actual acceptance.

I don't see a music player as value added in this instance. It would just add overhead to the game, whereas you can just run a player in the background. That may seem silly, but your suggestion puts additional stress on the main program in terms of resource management. This is much more likely to bog down low end computers.

A realistic request... Alternatively, Frontier could make a map that lays out actual positioning without the waypointing. That way, you could select the planets as you need to. Add in saving the system data until a jump, and your problem is resolved.

Yes, carriers/mobile bases have been suggested numerous times.

As to increasing the range of ship X, everyone has their preferred ship to enhance, but some logic needs to be incorporated other than, "I want this". Bulk haulers are not meant to be fast, they are meant to have carrying capacity. Throughout history, speed is the purview of ships that are purpose built for that function. Even the Anaconda, the longest jump in the game, loses that range when it becomes a cargo ship.

A cargo ship is a hull wrapped around a a hold. You build it as cheaply as possible to do the job. I realize that the game economics don't support this, but that is the logic. If you want a more robust ship, you can add hull reinforcements or upgrade the construction.

The only place that you encounter more durable cargo ships is military transports, and they are purpose built to move in a combat environment. That means that they tend to be smaller, faster and more durably built.

While I am certain that cargo needs tweaking, piracy already has the advantage that you aren't paying for it in the first place. Additionally, no matter how much we would like it to be otherwise for personal gain, the majority of haulage is going to be the day to day of foodstuffs and other routine transactions like home appliances.
