Suggestions to fix the galaxy map

As has been suggested to me:

You may want to submit that in another thread on its own, perhaps under Game Features as this thread has descended further into the pits.

Here you go

My main gripe with the game is the galaxy map. It's impressive but it's nearly impossible to navigate around in it. And what makes it impossible is that it has too much information, and too much information is hidden depending on the plane of view you are on. The way information is displayed needs to be reworked a bit. For example, if you are in federation space and trying to find the closest empire system is nigh impossible, because information will be hidden for the sake of clarity. They don't really need to change the map, but they need to add more tools of finding specific systems, e.g. auto-fill tool for searching, search parameters involving searching for government types, minor factions, ownership of system, type of industries in system, amount of stations and kinds of stations in a system and most importantly: allowing us to scribble our own notes in the map for personal use (and allow us to search through systems using keywords contained in our notes, for example: searching for the term "Black Market")

You can filter systems by government and economic type.
This function exists and working well.
Notes and black market info for visited stations are decared as suggestion many times already.

Yeah, but you still have the problem of being unable to navigate through all that convoluted mess because things disappear from view. I'd like to be able to see them highlighted regardless of how far away or in I zoom or how far away they are, or what X-Y-Z level I'm on. An anarchy system may be just a few light years "below" my position but I might never see it. On the other hand, a search function could allow you to cycle through systems that match whatever parameters you set for them, e.g. "Independent, High Population, Anarchy, Refinery". It's not even that hard to program such a function, considering you can currently cycle through systems that match the name you put in.

Good.

I think the galaxy map is fantastic. A significant portion of my game time is spent just looking around there. :D
I always have stars shown as either allegiance or economic type. It helps a lot.

My main wish would be that system descriptions ALWAYS show the basic information: allegiance, government, economic type, population. It is annoying to have to go into the view filters to look this up.

Something like this should be at the top of ALL system descriptions:
Type: Federal democracy
Economy: Extraction, Industrial
Population: 41.000

Bonus points for icons or text indicating security level, special states (war, famine, etc) and systems currently mentioned in the news.

I know what you mean. By the way, if it helps you can see the information you'd like for each system if you hover over a system while having the map's info tab, at least the basic stuff.
