Suicidal Sidewinder Pilot

To the suicidal Sidewinder pilot entering Cleve Hub in Eravate at full speed not too long ago, I am deeply sorry my Cobra was in the way. Honestly, if I had seen you coming I probably would have tried getting out of your way as you seemed to be in a hurry. Perhaps you were smuggling some illegal goods or the toilet on your ship was malfunctioning and that Chamunda Chowder was going through you like, well, a Sidewinder through a station. I do hope you survived and possibly made it to said toilet. Then again, perhaps after our brief yet exciting encounter you no longer needed the restroom after all.

Until our next unexpected meeting,
CMDR Corpsealot

haha...i loled :)

i could also apologise myself to the T6-pilot, boosting out of a mailslot on the wrong side, me entering with an a-class python.....
sorry dude (whoever you have been)....you died so quickly, i was not able to see your name.......

I was waiting outside a station in Yawa, as a T9 had wedged itself in the toast rack, and i was just waiting while the station destroyed it, in the meantime two sidewinders and an addder flew straight into it. All destroyed. I then entered the station to dock wetting myself laughing. The toast rack is the most dangerous war zone out there.

If ship lights turned on automaticly when near a station this sort of thing might happen less. Then again the game might be worse as a result.

OP, you really shouldn't had to... Now they will whine and ask for ship interior and a toilet with workable seat.

Wait, are you serious? Do the ships have headlights?

Indeed they do. If I am not mistaken they also help people see you coming from within and without a station upon docking and undocking. I cannot confirm this but I often turn them on just in case anyway.

Likewise to the ambitious, if not terribly experienced, 'Winder Pilot that rammed my well shielded Type 6 from behind entering the slot somewhere near Wolf 867 today; I would have exercised a little more forgiveness and not intentionally rammed your shieldless oyster to make a point before continuing into the station. Learn to use either your flight controls or the comms window to say,"Sorry mate" when you find yourself in this situation again. BTW, I'll be in a bigger ship next time it happens so I may keep going and forget about you altogether. But some folks aren't as patient as I am. Oh, and so we understand the facts, I'm quite sure I was moving at over 100 into the slot on the green side so don't think I was holding up traffic.

Would be nice if the AI turned theirs on (and some players), I only manage to see the ship because of the diamond reticle around their ship; otherwise I'd see them at the last possible second and likely crash. xD

My landing procedure is as follows:
1. Request docking,
2. Align ship to entrance,
3. Half power, lights on, power to systems,
4. Enter toaster, landing gear down, full power (something like 95),
5. After letterbox immediately thrust up or down to get out of anyone's way,
6. Approach pad and land.

Saved my butt more times than I can count (AI use the bulldozer maneuver, ie: they see you coming they a) don't stop, b) don't move out of the way - plus helps avoid some crazy CMDR's, lol).

I had a CMDR do the same in an eagle, I am in a python. Figured if I had windshield wipers I would have needed them. But then again, it didn't do anything to my shields.

That very well may have been me. I did the same thing yesterday, much to my chagrin. If it was me, I had been out mining and ran into some black market items that would fetch a very nice price, and I have been eying a new power plant for my Eagle. Normally a law abiding citizen, I scooped up the illegal goods. Before I could boost out of the RES I was approached by a CMDR who demanded my cargo. I ran, having only mining lasers and no shield generator equiped. Greed outweighed my common sense. The CMDR unloaded on me, breached my cockpit, and I managed to boost out just before death. On approach to Cleve Hub I was running on less than a minute of life support and was being scanned by the local 5-0. Was trying to boost in and land before the scan was completed and I ran out of air. Unfourtunatley fate brought us together. I have now seen the error of my ways, and will no longer pursue an ill-gotten fortune.
