Suit Loadout For Long Exo Exploration Journey

Personally all my Cmdrs have an Artemis with Inc battery and reduced tool consumption. I have a tendency to wander off if I see something interesting.
I have heard some swear by increased jump for high gravity worlds/ getting out of holes.
The other thing is scope, you'll have to get a gun attached to it but visiting a few Vistas should turn one up in the absence of binoculars.
Power packs and med kits can be stocked up from EXT settlements.
Grenades can be found at irregular markers if you wanted to throw something off a cliff or explode yourself 'cause you nudged a button at the wrong moment.
I wouldn't rate night vision for exploration.
Your ship and SRV have it, as well as lights and your suit has a torch.

This is what I have for my Artemis:
  • Improved Jump Assist to get to places.
  • Increased Sprint Duration to get there faster.
  • Improved Battery Capacity so I don't run out of juice on route. Also helps with scanning.
  • Night Vision for those rare instances I have to land on dark places. For example, a planet with Anemones with too hot day side.
Has worked very well so far. I also have a Manticore Executioner with a Scope to act as binoculars, and test my ship's shields when I'm bored.

Exactly the same mods here on my last account (the xb migrated one), including the exec with scope

an extra nod for Night Vision - extremely useful not only at night, but in daylight too. For example in the mountains with harsh shadows that make impossible to spot stuff in the areas which are not in direct sunlight.

Hi!

Prior to a long ExoB/Exploration outing I tried to find similar info but was spartan...I went for the mods below based upon potential long hikes with not much feel for the tool battery drain.

My feedback after several months of using this suit is that I've not had a worry about battery or anything else for that matter. Possibly I would maybe swap tool consumption for increased sprint if I went again, but I use a Hauler so I tend to fly from spot to spot with ease and slam down near samples to scan.

Potentially a less-engineered variant would be to have Jump Assist only - would limit long jaunts possibly.

Feel free to shout me if you have questions,
