I do try to take missions as evenly as possible among local factions so that I don’t skew the BGS too much for/against any player factions that might be around.

Nowadays whenever I'm doing these types of missions I play in open for fairness (particularly because I'm doing these with my Cobra Mk V, which can run circles around gankers). If any player faction isn't happy with me affecting the BGS of their system, they can let me know.
