Summer DLC Discussion? Summer DLC Discussion!

I mean, why not? We did it for Spring, and we did it for Christmas. Obviously it's not my summer but I figured I'd confuse everyone if I said "Winter DLC Discussion".

So, what do people think? What's coming next?

I'm certain it will be a scenery pack, and history tells us it's likely to be something desert/heat-related. A Middle East Pack seems like a viable option (Dromedary, Hamadryas baboon, Caracal, possibly the Indian crested porcupine rather than the superior African one), even though the Africa Pack already gave us a decent Arabesque building set. I know a lot of people are convinced we're moving onto "biome packs" now but I don't see why; the Aquatic Pack didn't lead to similar packs and there are still plenty of regions that could be potentially covered.

If we get a Middle East Pack, I think the building set is likely to be based on Persian architecture rather than Arabian, and it will act as a semi-expansion on the existing Indian theme, kind of like how the North Africa theme build upon the existing plaster set.

If I'm wrong and it is biomes, what sort of building set could we get for a "Desert Pack"?
Yes I would love to have one

What about the new sniffing behaviour, affecting allmost all animals and making them able to interact with every object we place, also animating them to use more of their habitats?
Thats honestly my favourite Part, as it is a good step into deeper and more diverse animal behaviour, which is honestly something everybody can appreciate.

I'm reluctant because I don't think it'll be all that great. How are they going to interact with every object we place? It's sniffing, and I think they are trying to make it be more than what it will be (with the "sniffing spots" and whatnot). But in general, yes, I agree, new animal behaviours are always welcome.

If i understood it correctly, animals can sniff (i bet they will reuse the scenter enritchment animations) on diffetent things in the habitat without us having to assign these spots manually with a scenter.
Basically, an enritchment item behaviour has been integrated into general behaviour, which is a first time and very cool, but also the items use was mainly to make animals check out areas without any big plaything over there.
So for me thats a win win, as the main use of making the animals use more of their habitats frequently is now an allways feature, which is simply great!
Especally when you think about zhe possibilities for the future like scratchabld objects and more!
Wouldnt zhst be cool?
