Sunny Rings, bring your sunglasses...

Working my way home from Sagittarius A* I keep getting distracted by Black holes on the way (Bloody OCD)

On my latest detour I stumbled across this system

Yup those are T Tauri Stars with rings.

Figured this to be unusual enough to fly out and snap a few pictures

Approaching one of those fellas.

Dipping inside the ring

on the Shadow side of the star (compared to the main star, still a bit funny to find a shadow side on a ring around a star)

and finally inside the ring on the Dark side of the Forc... err star

hope you enjoyed this brief intermission, back to *trying* to fly home... oh whats that..... *left turn*

Yeah, it seems ELITE doesn't use multiple primary light sources.

Very obvious example of the Light/Shadow-play :

(Ship was placed between those two very close Suns, so that both sides would have to be brightly illuminated - yet Game casts a Shadow on the "dark" side of the primary light source)

Makes for some awkward light/shadow moments, I wish they'd somehow address/fix that.

Were you in supercruise where that happened? ED uses deffered lighting and is capable of simulating multiple primary light sources at the same time. Supercruise does not have this feature though, only normal flight.
