Super Cruise Assist-BROKEN Againt NPC/PLAYER Interdictions

Ever since the new modules came out, I have noticed with increase activity that the module Super Cruise Assist is broken especially when being interdicted by NPCs. Since there is absolutely NO counter measures against them I am declaring this to be a BROKEN game mechanic as such. I had foolishly thot this would counter interdictions but no I was proven wrong.

Evasive actions have resulted in this module to be worthless to the point I am unfitting it on all my ships and trashing it. It was a nice try FD, but you have to come up with something much better than this plus you need to provide some kind of module we can use to counter interdictions either by NPCs and/or players, this has gone too far for too long and may result my leaving ED, thanks.

My only real complaint about supercruise assist is that they didn't put in a keybind to turn it on and off. It can be a bit of a pain scrolling through the nav panel to find your target and turn on the assist. I'd love to be able to just click the target and hit assist.

Yes let's wait for the interdiction evasion module, can I also have a auto-combat module and an auto-system explore and map module, combined with the auto-route jump module, auto-fuelscoop module and everything else I can just plot of a route of 20kly and go to bed, the PC can do the rest!

Do I need to inlcude a sarcasm tag here?

My main complaint is it can take quite a few keystrokes to enable it, plus you have to take your eyes off flying your ship while doing so. It would be much easier if we could just turn supercruise assist on for the currently selected target with one keystroke.

Now this one I can agree with, even though I may never bother with the SCA module I can see that having it hot key enabled would be useful.

Thanks everyone, it's been a debatable line of thought as I said in the beginning that I thought it would help in some way to avoid interdictions, but I know we all can agree it isn't to be, Thanks again and Fly Reckless.

Docking computer and SC assist, don't use them, so I don't have to complain about 'em.

I see docking as a contest, get in as fast as I can w/o overshooting the pad or getting stuck in the slot.

As far as interdictions, all my traders can fight/run as long as I don't get multiple Anacondas on my Python, with my Cutter it's fight on, I can use the extra CR. I got tired of getting outgunned by NPCs a long time ago.

I'm not sure where you got that from, from the very beginning I have always understood it to be a form or basic cruise control, take your hands of the wheel and eye off the road and you die, that's been clear to me, there was, as far as I know, no debate, they said what it would do straight up front.

I guess we just got two different impressions of it.

Love it when someone just assume something should work in a certain way, and then get superdupermegaupset when it doesn't:rolleyes:

While there isn’t a direct counter to interdictions, there are some things you can do to help minimize your risk of getting interdicted. One is to stay out of trade routes (watch your HUD and run in deep space by flying slightly away from your target for a while until “trade route” changes to “deep space”, then head directly toward your target. When you see a red icon start to turn toward you, work on keeping it from getting behind you and too close to you. If they try to interdict you close to a star, try to make them enter the star’s exclusion zone. They’ll want to stay close and behind you, so if you crowd the exclusion zone, they’ll either do an emergency stop when they hit the zone, or break off the pursuit. In the worst case, just out fly them. It’s a fairly easy skill to learn, although frustrating when you get multiple interdictions or just hate wasting the time doing it. But there has to be at least a “hint of danger” in ED!

Love it when people get something wrong then people reply with an over exagerated post about how upset someone is ... the guy made a simple mistake and the place fills with weebs making silly remarks.

The module is a joke and it only runs you at 75% speed or whatever, just as worthless as the docking assist that will destroy you or other ships without hesitation or try docking you on top of another ship endlessly... but thats a whole nother bug! Clearly people are expecting to much from the people that cant even center a mouse widget in the HUD.

All this information was available from the very moment it was mentioned, if there was a time to bring it up it should have been brought up then. The SCA was always set to fly in the blue zone, and we all knew that meant 75% throttle. I suspect it was designed that way because it's an assist, not a replacement pilot and FDEV didn't want to provide us with a spaceship that would fly itself in a game that's about flying spaceships.
