Super Cruise boost control.

Unless FDev want to build an extra a whole bunch ships to replace the SCO unoptimised ones, which seems a little wasteful to me because I can't be the only player who sees ships like T-8 as nice, but the loss of weapons being too much of a compromise just for slightly (IMO) improved SCO flight.
I think that building a whole fleet and selling pre-access is going to be the business model moving forward.

I have 2 T-8s because I don't like constantly swapping modules between a pure cargo load out and mining. The T-8 is very agile and fun to mine with, not the best miner, but good enough. That one is named "Oh My Darling Clementine" and my cargo one is named "Brave Sir Robin" neither has weapons.

I wish the T-8 had one more size 2 hard point and the internals to run it properly, but balance I guess.

But the T7 & T8 are pure freighters at heart, the Python is not:

"Manufactured by Faulcon deLacy, the Python is a multipurpose ship that offers an enticing balance of manoeuvrability, firepower and defence."

What they're supposed to be doesn't really matter. I want a ship that can go between outposts, carry at least 250t of cargo and comfortably see off NPC pirates. The Lakon ships don't fit that brief for me.

According to the lore, only a handful of the bravest and most competent pilots of each generation are honoured with an invitation to join the group. It is futile to attempt to contact the Dark Wheel on one's own initiative, however –

The handling, heat and fuel usage of the older ships only really becomes an issue if your destination is <10kls away.

The heat issue can be completely negated on most trips by using a C-rated SCO FSD. It has identical (if not identical, almost identical) optimal mass and fuel usage to the standard A-rated FSDs (so the same range), but has substantially less overcharge heat generation than the A-rated SCO. All for a third of the cost, which is nice.
