Newcomer / Intro Super cruise Help Please

My home base at the moment is L3447 I think, problem is it takes me ages on supercruise to fly to my Dalton Port which is 110,000ls from where I appear in jump. Takes ages, I mean 10-20 minutes it seems too long, I failed a mission which asked me to get some supplies and it gave me 26 mins to get them!! It takes longer to supercruise back to the starport!! help please!

I am supercruising now whilst I surf the forums for help, been to loo made tea its crazy!!

Head out and try other systems, not all of them have stations so far from the jump point.

I'd recommend checking available cargo space, jump distance and time before accepting any missions.

Correct the 100,000+ LS distance is a PITA.

1. Try going full power in SC and just watch the timer - at 8 Seconds reduce throttle to 50% and you should cut the journey time without over shooting.

2. Go to a different system! Most have stations that are 500-4000 LS from the jump point and you find missions are much quicker to complete.

My sympathies, you're not the first to be burned by long supercruises running out the clock and I'm sure you won't be the last.

If you've got a mission that you don't know how long the supercruise to the station will be, you can get a good idea by looking at the system view. Find the station you are traveling to. Locate the body it orbits.

If the station orbits the primary star itself, look at its orbit details.
If the station orbits a planet that orbits the primary star, look at that planets orbit details.
If the station orbits a moon of a planet that orbits the primary star, look at the planets orbit details
If the station orbits a secondary star or any body that orbits that star you can stop right here, it's going to be a long supercruise.

When checking orbit details, look for the "semi-major axis" It will be given in AU. 1AU=499ls.

Those long journeys are irritating. I actually got up and made a cup of coffee and read through the forums on one long route. It would be nifty if one could buy minigames to play during long cruises
