Horizons supercharged FSD flying past a white dwarf?

Flying to another system I hit an undiscovered system (undiscovered my my ship), I came up on the white dwarf LFT 507 A, I pulled out quick and re engaged the drive to the next system, on doing so, a blue light showed up in front of me in my jump direction, the ship then started pitching and rolling like an intradiction, I cancelled the jump, just before I did I had a message come up saying frame shift drive supercharged. Any one else seen this? Just ched the jump range went from basic 17 to 25LY

Yes, it's a new feature in 2.2. Neutron stars are the same. They both give a boost to your FSD jump range (although neutron stars give much more with a x4 bonus IIRC) but they both carry a risk. If you end up in normal space inside one of the plumes it's very bad.. Also, the FSD takes some damage while getting boosted so you need an AFMU for extended use. The safe way to do it is to approach the end of one of the plumes and fly into it going away from the star... Going towards the star is likely to land you in normal space... bad...
