Supercruise and hyperspace hanging, Been trying to fix for last 24 hours.

Hi,
I've had this weird problem since yesterday. Every time I try to use supercruise or hyperspace the graphic/countdown occurs then the game just hangs. Graphics are still going on (ie I can look around the cockpit with stars racing by) but nothing else works, timer sits at 000.000. I have to end Elite Dangerous through the task manager.

I have tried reinstalling ED, self destructing ship/going into the outfitter, but nothing works . I have sent in a ticket, I have looked all over the net, but I can't work out what's going on. My internet is fine.

I am new to the game I may be missing something simple but I was hyperspacing etc easily before... Please help ;-)

Edit. I've tried every tip online I've been able to find. Reset router, check internet (everything fine Upnp enabled etc) Internet working well for everything else. PC is high end working perfectly. The only thing I haven't done is delete my Save. That will be next... Then it will be the devs turn... fingers crossed, it's unplayable at present.

At the worst you can get support to move you to another system - that is how some others have had to be "rescued" from this.

Other things reported to have worked - delete your route in the galaxy map, select a close system and jump to it - re-enter station and go into and out of outfitting (lord knows how that worked) - disable IPv6 in networking....

Good luck, nil desperandum.

Hey thanks for the reply.

Yeah the deleted route and close system jump didn't work along with the outfitting fix, unfortunately. Tried that a few times over last day.

I deleted the save and restarted with new commander, THIS WORKED! But obviously this is not a great fix and hopefully this never ever ever happens again, especially far later into the game. By the looks of it, this seems a very rare bug only happening to a few people out of thousands. I have left my ticket up with the devs because I want some more answers regarding this problem. I will keep this thread informed.

Thanks again :)

Just thought I'd check back in with the 'proper fix' as stated by Para Handy above.

If this bug happens to anyone, just submit a ticket and support will move you to another system...EASY. The only issue is you don't get to play for approx 48 hours while you wait for support! Here was the support answer:

"Thank you for contacting us at Frontier and I'm sorry to hear that you encountered this issue!

Often when users encounter this issue it is due to the server being unable to confirm the location data for your commander as such I have gone ahead and moved you one system over to manually make sure that the location for yourself is correctly reflected on the server! :)

Please do let us know how trying to now log in and play goes and hopefully, the steps that were taken here help to alleviate the issue.

Kind Regards"

Thanks again everyone!

some suggestions.......................
try temp connecting via a free vpn although not a connection issue it can route you trough the server a different path that can help
also try a felllow commander crew member map accsess and change if I rem reading correctly from the old forum.
just in case your having a slight tdr issue which then manifests as connection lag try lowering gpu 50hz using a clocking tool then run elite to make sure that is not the problem as if a gpu based windows time out delay recovery occurs whilst in elite it will most likely occur when jumping\cruising as that is when the gpu goes from having lots to do then nothing to do(or not so much) and vice versa

Hey thanks, yeah different VPN servers around the world didn't work. Wasn't anything to do with the GPU. Support fixed it. I scanned the net for hours trying every fix known to man... Seems support was the only way to fix this problem for me, they have to change your sector.
