Supercruise Drop out distance from stations and outposts

First we'd have to agree on what is wrong and what constitutes an improvement to the game....

If you think these are a problem:

NPCs dropping through the station
NPCs dropping into a NFZ directly
Excessive use of interdictions
Station instances less than bustling hubs
PP NPCs not providing some form of opposition
Security levels not meaning very much
Botting
Lack of general PvE pirating

then we can agree something is wrong.
 
Can't be arsed to read all the messages to see if someone suggested it, but wrt. lengthened transit times: simply speed up SC travel a tiny bit to shave off some time, keeping the total effectively in the same ballpark as before. And implement a skill/timing based drop-out where you can cut some of the distance (not as short as the current distance, though) if you bother learning it. Preferably, smaller ships should have an easier time dropping closer: this would give them a much needed buff (especially for smuggling), but also make it easier for new/casual players.

Yes, not sure how the details might work but it could be another opportunity to add a little gameplay and player skill.
