Shooting down my own thoughts: Probably this was tested in the early days and merited the Top-Gun Maverick trick of slamming on the breaks and the guy trying to interdict you would shoot on past.
Scenario: Comming in hot to a location, FSD is slowing down but you can hear how it's struggling. You have already pulled back on the throttle but your FSD won't slow down in time "naturally".
So what about cranking that breaking process to 11.
A binary handbrake is added to the slowing down process, as soon as your analogue throttle enters anywhere along the "negatives axis"
PROS - So you slow down in time.
CONS - Wear and tear on the ship, Heat, Hull and Module damage.

- Hull Damage; the hull is being bent and stretched with un-even frameshifting. Your bowels are more than likely doing the same thing as well.
- [Module Damage] - FSD itself as the drive starts tearing itself apart under the strain.
[Module Damage] - Engines (powering your "Normal" flight in the Folded space) are working to slow down- [Module Damage] - Power Generator is working extra hard to pump resources into the FSD.
- [Module Damage] - Power Distributor is working extra hard to pump resources into the FSD.
- [HEAT] FSD and power systems are overheating.
- [Helm Controls] - Lack of control, choppy and sluggish as the ship buffets between the lurches in un-even shifts in the folds of space-time.
- Random chance of an emergency stop.
- Cool-down time for FSD is longer (like an interdiction or emergency stop).
- whilst the FSD is still hot, you can't disable it, fix it, and it's still generating extra heat as the powered module is actively working on cooling down.
