Supercruise / Hyperjump - two different buttons?

I've just installed ED on a new machine and had to remap all my buttons on the Hotas Thrustmaster X.

In my previous configuration I always pressed button 5 to jump from one system to the next, and then pressed button 5 again to drop out of SC when approaching the target station.

Now it appears I have to map a button for each? If I just button 5 for SC then it doesn't auto jump me from one system to another, but it won't let me cue it for both?

Bit confused lol

Its been a while since I've re mapped it. If I remember correctly there is a toggle option. I have it set to j for supercruise and shift + j for system jump. I personally did not like having them both set the same. Should be in there somewhere to do that though.

Yeah I use H & J rather than just one button.

IIRC if you want the two separate ones to work you need to clear the third (combined) button, so maybe you need to do it the other way around & clear the other two assignments OP?

I map them to different buttons, but if I remember right the one that does a high wake jump is the one that you can use for everything. Try just mapping and using that one, and ignore the SC one, you don't have to use both.

I was so pleased when I found I could use different buttons for the different functions. Now if only there was one to automatically high-wake you to the nearest system...

If I remember correctly there is a toggle option.

I use the toggle option most of the time and have SC bound to the same key plus my stick's trigger for when the high wake target is masked. I think it's called Toggle FSD or something like that. I'm not at my gaming rig so I can't check, sorry.
