Supercruise/Hyperspace hiccups

Started playing Elite yesterday, and am having one particular issue that is putting a damper on the immersion - supercruise (in system), and especially hypercruise (star to star), are pockmarked with pretty major stuttering in both the picture and sound, especially going "into" them.

My system, running the game maxed at 1080p:

i7 2600
680GTX
16GB RAM
150Mbps Network
And in case it for some reason matters - x55 Rhino

It is not a framedrop in the conventional sense, but full on momentary pauses to both audio/video. It is only a minor annoyance in supercruise, but in hypercruise it is a major issue and makes the whole thing feel like a poorly optimized loading screen. It seems a minor thing, but is really bugging me; mainly because the game is utherwise buttery smooth.

Is anyone else experiencing this? There are a few, older, mentions of similar issues, but no one seems to have brought it up in some time. From what I have read it is network related, having to do with the way the game handles various system populations as "islands" that need to be loaded. It almost certainly is not my PC, or network. But since I haven't seen it brought up lately, I figured I'd see if it is a server issue we all deal with.

I love this game to pieces already, but if this turns out to be a universal thing, I think finding a way to smooth FSD travel out should become Frontiers biggest priorities - especially star to star. That mode of travel is way to cool to get marred like that.

No further input, just one person acknowledging it?

I love this game, dearly, do not get me wrong. But I feel a lot of you have been playing pre-release builds for so long that you have gotten yourselves all worked up on these forums about some of the silliest and most obscure stuff; but the fact that hyperspace jumps (a thing you do All. THE. TIME) remain totally non-dynamic and stutter like mad is not even being addressed by anyone.

Supercruise is fine, just needs a little network refining so it doesn't jump a bit as you pass groups of players and quickly make then lose contact. Much of this probably comes down to some people having poor connections. But the hyperspace jump? it's a loading screen, that's it, there is NO reason it should stutter because it is shifting you around networks. The frequency of seeing it is the true problem, star to star travel is something you are almost always about to do in this game.

Graphically I'm not sold on hypercruise either - it's kind of plain, and that isn't even for the sake of science - it is not an effect that jives with our theoretical understanding of various possible ways to achieve FTL movement of mass. I don't care if it's accurate or not though, since that is basically guessing anyway, I just want it to be smooth and maybe a little more interesting. Supercruise is beautiful, ominous, and awe inspiring; so it's always a bit lame to see hypercruise so vanilla in comparison.

Maybe it's just me, but I hope they find a way to make hypercruise blow my face off.....or at least not make me moan "******* stutttering" every time.
