There was a very good discussion on how to improve supercruise here. As the OP is MIA, I'm posting a poll including the proposals raised in that thread.

Further clarification (100 char limit in poll options, sorry for the lack of clarity)

Drop out of SC so that objects scale with their actual size (stars are always larger than stations)

This is to improve sense of scale, which apparently is lacking in SC's current implementation (I'm in Standard Beta).

It means that when you drop out of SC objects should be relatively smaller/larger as their sizes are. So when you drop out of SC stations should always look smaller than planets, which should always look smaller than (most) stars. For that to happen, exit distance must vary by the size of the object, unless we want pinhead sized stations and, umm, star-sized stars.

Might be over-rideable or a toggle, so that you always drop out of SC at the same distance to an object.

I really dont understand what this means ...

So I will get my good friend Father Ted to explain the idea of 'perspective' to you! ...

100 character limit in poll options made for some headaches :(

Didn't watch the video, but perspective doesn't matter.

You could maybe override this default.

Nope still not getting it .. Sorry I really don't understand what you are are trying to say here ... As per the video .. the further an object is, the smaller an object is! That's how things work in our space time continuum!

Here from the original OP:

Frameshift pretty much always drops me at a certain distance of stellar bodies, which might be just 17.000 km when it comes to LP 98-132 planet 4 or 3.2 LS when it comes to the star of the system. Now the effect is, that both bodies pretty much look the same size all the time, because of the distance I am dropped at. Even though the star is magnitudes bigger than the planet.

emphasis mine.

The suggestion is to vary the drop-out distance so that planets look smaller than stars.

Wider band of SC speeds? Is 200km/s to over 2000c not enough?

Apparently not to some people. Only a few of the suggestions are mine, I'm just collecting them from the other thread.

I believe the request is to enable supercruising from one system to another, which at current speeds can take tens of hours of game time.

That will be impossible due to fuel requirements when fuel is implemented anyway...

Couldn't vote - none of the options matches my issue which is the minimum speed should be zero so you can drop out precisely.

It is there: "Wider band of SC speeds" ;)

And even if it was missing, you can still vote if some of the poll options are attractive...
