Just wondering, has anyone ever had this happen?: I dropped out of supercruise less than a second late and didn't get a destination lock and ended up inside a station next to a landing pad and almost hit a tower. Luckily I only received a 400 CR. fine because I wasn't allowed inside.

Used to happen fairly frequently during the Alpha, back when the standard arrival point was 20km from the station People used to deliberately try and get closer and quite a few times people arrived inside. It could have been much worse, there were cases of people getting stuck in the station structure.
I lost an Asp exiting SC straight into the front wall of a Coriolis.
I came out of SC once a bit janky. I dropped too soon and was maybe 500km out. I could barely see the station but didn't want to boost in normal space all that way. So I went SC and dropped right away. I got the infraction warning about entering the station without clearance, cleared the infraction almost instantly, and ended up dropping out behind the station. That was a bit freaky. I bet I couldn't do that again if you gave me a dollar.
I like to engage FSD while pointing as close to the edge of a station as possible. Will it rotate in my way before I engage or not? Heh heh heh heh...
Doesn't matter. You can even jump into SC right through the station.
That's pretty much what happened to me except I actually dropped inside, referring to what mbar said

Are you able to request docking while inside a station? I would assume you can't, didn't want to risk trying as I was too busy leaving
No, you have to be outside and clear of the cattlegrid.
I thought it was only the Millennium Falcon that could do that!
